Spring Quiz Night · March
Twenty-two teams packed the Fairfield Rooms, the music round caused two formal protests, and “Quizteama Aguilera” took the trophy. Every penny went on food bank stock.
Raised £1,842Events
Most of our events are free, all of them are friendly, and every penny raised stays in Croydon. Dates below are confirmed – but do check before travelling far, because South London weather has opinions.
Coming up
Six dates between now and October. Free ones just need your good mood; ticketed ones sell out – book by ringing the Hub or via the contact form.
Live music from the Bright Sparks studio crew, forty community stalls, food from six continents and the legendary tug-of-war against Croydon Fire Station (current score: 3–3). Bring a blanket; the bouncy castle is free, the burgers aren’t.
Free entryMeet the teachers, find your level with a relaxed ten-minute chat and enrol for the autumn term on the spot. Interpreters on hand, children welcome, samosas guaranteed.
Free – just turn upTeams of up to six, £8 a ticket, chip-shop supper included. Eight rounds, one infamous music round, and every penny goes straight to the food bank shelves. Book early – March’s quiz sold out in nine days.
Fundraiser · £8A gentle loop through Lloyd Park, Coombe Wood and Addington Hills, marshalled the whole way, with a medal and a bacon (or halloumi) roll at the finish. We need water-station volunteers as well as walkers – both count.
Volunteers neededThe annual pilgrimage: fish and chips on the pier, a gentle promenade roll (wheelchairs and walkers very welcome) and ice creams on the way home. Free for Golden Hours members – book with Eleanor by 11 September.
Members · freeOur biggest food-collection day of the year – trolley points at five supermarkets, shopping lists in hand. Two-hour volunteer shifts, full training on the day, and last year’s haul fed the food bank well into January.
Volunteers neededCommunity calendar: printed copies of the full calendar sit by the Hub front desk, and Sunny (the chat bubble in the corner) always knows what’s next. Running a local event yourself? We’ll happily add it to the noticeboard – drop us a line.
