Six programme leads Twelve certified trainers across both gyms

In your corner

Every trainer at FitX1 is certified, on the floor and paid to coach – not to sell you a package. Between them: 60 years of coaching, 900-plus transformations and six specialisms under one membership.

The team

The six who lead
the programmes

You’ll meet whoever is taking your first class at the desk. Here’s who they are before you get there.

Head coach · Strength & Muscle

Arjun Rao

Twelve years on gym floors in Bengaluru, four of them competing in state-level powerlifting with a 195 kg deadlift at 83 kg. Runs the strength programme at both gyms and writes every six-week block personally.

Coaching style: obsessive about the first three reps. Arjun will happily spend your entire first session teaching you to brace and hinge with an empty bar, and he keeps a training card for every member on the programme. Standing line at 6am: “The bar doesn’t care how you slept. Lift it anyway.”

Weight Loss & Transformation · Nutrition

Rahul Menon

Came to fitness the long way round – 32 kg down himself over two years while working a desk job in Hyderabad, which is why he answers nervous first messages personally. Now runs the twelve-week programme at both gyms.

Coaching style: builds nutrition plans around what you already cook, not around chicken and broccoli. Rahul does the week-three WhatsApp check-in himself, because week three is when most people quietly stop coming. He will tell you honestly what twelve weeks can and cannot do.

CrossFit & Functional training

Kiran D.

Competed at regional CrossFit level for six seasons and has coached affiliates in Bengaluru and Pune. Writes every WOD on this timetable and scales it in front of the class rather than leaving people to guess.

Coaching style: loud on the whiteboard, quiet on the floor – he walks the room and fixes one thing per person per session. Kiran is the reason nobody at FitX1 does a kipping pull-up before they own a strict one. Beginners get their own scaling written on the board by name.

Yoga & Mobility · Wellness lead

Sneha Reddy

Trained in Mysore in the hatha tradition and holds RYT-500 with Yoga Alliance. Nine years teaching, the last four of them almost entirely to people who lift – which changed how she sequences a class completely.

Coaching style: calm, exact, and unbothered by how inflexible you think you are. Sneha writes the mobility class specifically around the three joints that limit most lifts, and she will not let anyone skip savasana. Tell her about an injury or a pregnancy and the whole sequence adapts around you.

Calisthenics & bodyweight strength

Nikhil Shetty

Started on a park pull-up bar in Mangaluru with zero pull-ups and no coach. Eleven years later he holds a full front lever and a strict ring muscle-up, and teaches the progressions he had to work out the hard way.

Coaching style: measures progress in months and tells you so on day one. Nikhil is the best person in the building to talk to if you cannot do a single pull-up yet – it is the most common starting point in his class, and there is a documented route from there.

Zumba & Dance Fitness

Pooja Iyer

A licensed ZIN instructor since 2018 with a Bharatanatyam background, which is exactly why her choreography lands for people who have never danced in their lives. Takes the busiest hour on the whole timetable.

Coaching style: repeats the chorus until the entire room has it, calls out a low-impact option in every single track, and genuinely does not care whether you can dance. If you have been putting off a class because you think everyone is watching you, Pooja’s 7:30pm is the one to try.

How we coach

Three promises,
every class

Different trainers, different programmes, same deal. If a session ever falls short of these, tell Arjun – he means that.

You get coached, not counted

Nobody at FitX1 shouts reps from behind a desk. Every trainer is on the floor, correcting form and giving you at least one personal cue per session. That is the entire job.

The newest gets the most

If you are the newest person in the room, expect the most attention – not the least. The regulars had their turn, and they will tell you so themselves.

Progress is measured, not guessed

Your numbers are logged, your body composition is re-checked every six weeks, and every load increase is a decision someone made on purpose. No trainer here will tell you that you “look great” instead of showing you the data.

Come and meet one of them

Your free trial day comes with a trainer at the desk, a body composition check and a proper walk round the floor. No card details, no sales pitch.
