The full price board

Twenty-four jobs, priced before we start, including VAT. This is the board that hangs in the workshop — the website version just saves you the trip to Argall Avenue. If your job isn’t on it, we quote it fixed before any work begins.

The board

Every price, by category

No hourly meter, no “while we’re here” extras. Once you accept a price it doesn’t move — even if the job runs over.

If we can’t clear a blockage, you don’t pay the clearance price. The only charge would be a camera survey — and only if you ask for one.

Callout fees

There isn’t one

Within our covered postcodes, there is no callout fee — not for booked jobs, not for emergencies. Here’s exactly how that works.

  • Booked jobs: you pay the board price or your fixed quote. Getting to you is our cost, not yours.
  • Emergencies: £120 buys the whole of the first hour’s labour, day or night. It is not a fee on top of an hourly rate — it is the first hour.
  • After the first hour: £45 per half hour, agreed with you as we go. You’ll never learn about extra time from the invoice.
  • Quotes and surveys: phone quotes, site visits for bathroom and boiler quotes, and repair-versus-replace advice are all free.
  • Outside our patch: if we agree to travel further, any travel charge is named on the phone before you book — never discovered afterwards.

The process

How quoting works

Four steps, no mystery. The same routine whether it’s a 2am burst main or a Saturday tap swap.

  1. Tell us the job

Call, use the form, or send photos by WhatsApp. Ruth or an engineer will ask the two or three questions that actually matter.

  2. Get the price in writing

Board jobs are quoted on the spot; anything else gets a written fixed quote — usually within the hour in working time, after a free site visit for big jobs.

  3. Accept — price locked

Say yes by text, email or on the phone. The number is now final and held for 30 days, even if the job takes longer than we thought.

  4. The invoice matches

If we uncover something genuinely different mid-job, we stop, show you photos, and quote it separately. You can always say no.

Straight answers

Pricing questions, answered

The ones we get asked on the phone every week — answered here the same way we’d answer them at your kitchen table.

Really. Within our covered postcodes you pay the board price or your fixed quote — getting to you is our cost, not yours. For emergencies, £120 buys the whole of the first hour’s labour, day or night. It is not a fee on top of an hourly rate — it is the first hour.

Yes. Every price on the board includes VAT and the standard parts listed. Anything non-standard is charged at trade cost — and you see the supplier invoice, not a marked-up mystery line.

The price doesn’t move. Once you accept a fixed price it’s locked, even if the job runs over. If we uncover something genuinely different mid-job, we stop, show you photos and quote it separately — you can always say no.

No. The £120 emergency rate covers the whole first hour at any hour, any day — bank holidays included. After the first hour it’s £45 per half hour, agreed with you as we go, never discovered on the invoice.

Thirty days from the day we send it. Say yes by text, email or on the phone and the number is final — the invoice matches the quote.

Once the job’s finished and checked with you: card on the doorstep (all major cards, no surcharge), bank transfer against the emailed invoice, or cash with a printed receipt if you want one. Landlords and agents get 14-day invoice terms.
