You trust us with wedding dates, family names and both grandmothers’ dietary requirements. Here is exactly what we do with them – and what we never do – in plain English, because that is how we cook too.
The short version
We use your details for one thing: replying about your event and, if you book us, feeding it well.
No mailing lists, no marketing, no selling or sharing of your details – ever.
This website sets no cookies, runs no analytics and stores nothing in your browser.
Ask and we will show you, correct, or delete whatever we hold about you.
What you send us, and why we ask
When you enquire – through the form, WhatsApp, phone or email – we receive what you choose to share: your name and contact details, the occasion, the muhurtham date, a rough guest count, the venue, and anything you add about menus or must-have dishes. That is exactly what we need to check availability and give you an honest starting price, and it is all we ask for.
If you go on to book, we also collect the practical details a feast needs – final numbers, dietary and allergy lists, venue contacts and payment records. In legal terms: we handle enquiry details because you asked us to take steps before a contract, and booking details to carry out our contract with you. Anything beyond that, we ask first.
WhatsApp, honestly
One honest line: messages you send us on WhatsApp live in WhatsApp, which belongs to Meta and is governed by Meta’s own terms and privacy policy – the same as any WhatsApp chat you have.
We keep our side of the conversation only as long as the schedule below, and we never add you to broadcast lists. If you would rather keep things off WhatsApp entirely, the enquiry form, phone and email reach the same two people just as quickly.
Cookies: none
This site sets no cookies, uses no analytics, and stores nothing in your browser – no localStorage, no tracking pixels, no advertising tags. The little chat assistant runs entirely on this page and sends nothing anywhere.
The one third party involved in showing you this site is Google Fonts, which serves our typefaces; your browser requests them from Google’s servers, which see your IP address in the process, as with any font service.
How long we keep things
If your enquiry does not become a booking, we delete it within twelve months of our last conversation – long enough to pick up where we left off if you come back after comparing caterers, and no longer. WhatsApp threads are cleared from our devices on the same schedule.
If you book us, we keep your event records for six years after the event, because UK tax and accounting law requires it. Dietary and allergy lists are destroyed once the last plate is cleared and the invoice is settled.
Who ever sees your details
Lakshmi, Ravi and the small team planning your event. Where the day itself needs it, we pass on the minimum – final numbers to your venue, a named allergy list to the crew cooking that morning. For Hyderabad events, the same family firm handles your details through our Jubilee Hills office, to the same standards.
We never sell, rent or swap your details, and nobody joins a mailing list – we do not run one.
Your rights
UK GDPR gives you the right to see a copy of what we hold about you, to correct it, to have it deleted, and to object to or restrict how it is used. Email namaste@saffronskyevents.co.uk with “Data request” in the subject line and we will answer within one month, usually much sooner.
If you are ever unhappy with how we have handled your details, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk – though we would consider it a personal failure if it came to that.
